The famous prong-set oval sapphire that is now known to a new generation of royal watchers as the Kate Middleton Ring represents a modern fairy tale. Kate, nicknamed “Waity Katie” by the British tabloids, is the first non-blueblood since the 1600s to marry a future British monarch. Her beauty, etiquette and style make her a savvy, modern princess bride. And with her engagement to the dashing heir to the British throne, a lot of women would love to be in her shoes right now – if not in her ring!  Most girls would love to have a Kate Middleton ring, Prince William and a castle to go with it.

The Kate Middleton Ring that once belonged to Princess Diana is the most famous engagement ring in the world. The oval blue sapphire ring clustered with 14 brilliant diamonds that first caught the public’s eye in 1981 is still one of the most sought-after ring designs; adored by those inspired by the late princess’s exquisite taste in jewelry. With Prince William offering the ring to Kate, he said, “It was my way of making sure mother didn’t miss out on today and the excitement and the fact that we’re going to spend the rest of our lives together.”

Garrard Jewellers, the official crown jeweller of the British monarchy, made the original Kate Middleton Ring for Princess Diana for a hefty 28,000 GBP in 1981. Now the ring is estimated to cost 85,000 GBP, but non-royals can also have their own exquisite version of the same ring for a fraction of the price.

Kate Middleton Jewelry

The engagement of Kate Middleton to Prince William in November 2010, has of course created a buzz regarding Kate Middleton’s engagement ring. A renewed interest in the ring, which originally belonged to Prince William’s mother, Lady Diana, has brought about many ring replicas both in the costume jewelry market and also in the authentic diamond and sapphire engagement ring market.

As well as the Kate ring replicas, there is an interested in Sapphire and diamond jewelry in general. As Sapphires are of course rather expense, most opt for quite well replicated sapphires made from glass stones surrounded by cubic zirconias instead of diamonds. For those who love the sapphire and diamond “look” there are some lovely Kate Middleton jewelry sets, such as necklaces and earrings and bracelets.

A particularly nice Kate Middleton jewelry set is from Emitations and costs approx $300. It is a faux sapphire and cubic zirconia necklace with matching earrings. The design is very elegant with a very royal feel about it; would go well with a deep blue evening dress. As with their Kate Middleton ring, the faux sapphire is a very very deep blue color.

Royal Ring Replicas

A very significant historical event on the international stage is soon to take place. The marriage of Prince William and Miss Catherine Elizabeth Middleton is scheduled for April 29, 2011.  A symbol of this historical event is available to people around the world in the form of a royal ring replica.

Kate’s engagement ring is the same ring given to Princess Diana for her engagement by Prince Charles almost 30 years ago. This ring was passed down to Prince William from his late mother, Princess Diana.  There are some beautiful royal ring replicas to keep as a lovely collector’s piece and to enjoy wearing as a stunning fashion item.  Kate has become a royal trend setter of sorts and is well known for her style and elegance.

A royal ring replica that is particularly well priced is the “Royal Heirloom Ring” produced by Sterling Collections.  It was originally scheduled to be priced at $39.00, and is being offered for a limited time at the price of only $19.95. It is a simulated “Ceylon” sapphire representing the original quality of the centerpiece.  The center is surrounded by extremely brilliant cubic zirconias and prong set in silver plate. Each purchaser receives a Certificate of Authenticity with this ring.  The Royal Ring Replica comes in a hinged decorative, velvet jewelry box.

There are many other royal souvenirs available online, including the popular Aynsley China range.  Also popular is kate middleton jewelry sets,

This wedding has such a fairytale story to it that is capturing the hearts of fans all over the world. Kate is an everyday girl who probably had never dreamt of meeting her prince charming and becoming a member of the Royal family.  She is now on the verge of becoming the queen of England by marrying Prince William, the eldest son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.  Prince William is expected to be crowned the next king of England.  His chosen bride-to-be, Kate Middleton is the daughter of a flight dispatcher and a flight attendant who is vigorously compared to Princess Diana in both style and personality. She is reportedly expected to be a royal style icon and a trendsetter similar to what Princess Diana was in the 1980s and 1990s. Both of these ladies were well bred English women.

Kate and Prince William have been a couple for almost eight years and their wedding will draw an audience of millions around the world via the internet and television. A car will bring Kate to the wedding and the couple will leave Westminster Abbey in a carriage. The ceremony will be handled by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams.

Royal Ring replicas have become popular as they will provide a memorable symbol of this historical occasion.  William said that he chose to give the his late mother’s ring to Kate as it was a way of feeling like his mother was still involved in the celebration.  Having a replica of Prince William’s memento from his mother and Kate Middleton’s engagement ring is a special commemorative item to one of history’s most important royal events.

For those who want more than a costume jewelry piece, there are also beautiful imitation engagement rings made from real Sapphires and real diamonds.

The Dream Wedding Of The Century

It is in all of the headlines - “The Wedding of the Century”, Catherine Elizabeth “Kate” Middleton is to marry the charming Prince William of Wales. This will have to be one of the greatest weddings of our time. Immediately there was a buzz about the fact that Prince William gave Kate Middleton his late mother’s ring, which will now be known as the Kate Middleton ring.  Kate Middleton ring replicas are now hot property, as Kate sets some fashion statements with the revived ring.

Being the fiancée of a prince, Kate will have the pleasure of having over 29 top designers fighting over making her the perfect wedding dress.  Can you imagine what Kate Middleton’s wedding dress will be like? This must be an exciting time for all involved in the planning of the wedding. I for one am very excited about the upcoming event.

It is believed that Kate will possibly go with a British designer for her dress. Even though she may go that way, several American and European designers are offering her their designs. This is what Prabal Guring said about the design that he has come up with for her dress, “The look is regal with respect for the heritage of the royal family but represents what modern Europe is all about”. A lot of people believe that Kate will pick a design of J. Mendel’s. He has offered up a ruffled but unadorned number. Others believe that Kate’s gown will represent the antithesis of Princess Diana’s fairy-tale gown. Princess Diana’s gown was designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel. They have stated that they would love to make Kate’s dress but Elizabeth said, “I’d have to meet her first. I’d want to find out what kind of person she is”. Diana’s dress was full and romantic, whereas Kate may decide on something slim and elegant. It cannot be too simple though, there will have to be an element of theatricality.

Star Magazine has come out with a report that states that the Royal Wedding will cost somewhere around $40 million and that Kate has already pick out a dress that cost some where in the neighborhood of $200,000. They have also stated that they believe over 3 billion people will watch the ceremony in some way. That is close to half of the people on the planet watching.

There have been numerous rumors about the wedding and its details. One of the contributors of the Huffington Post, Yvonne Yorke, has stated that Kate’s wedding dress is now being worked on and it is being created inside of Buckingham Palace. Hilary Alexander has stated that the designer is still under wraps and no one knows who it is yet. There is speculation that it could be one of Kate’s much loved brands by Issa. This is a question that is still on everyone’s mind. Who ever gets the job of designing this dress will surely become famous. Everyone will want a dress made by them.  We shall have to wait until April 29th to find out.  While we are waiting we have plenty of royal souvenirs and Kate Middleton ring replicas to look at to fill in the time!

Aynsley China for William and Kate

With the royal wedding a little over four months away, it seems every day brings about a new headline or product related to the event.  But now, an official line of china has been approved by the groom and bride to be and it is available for purchase.
In November of 2010, Aynsley China created what they named the Engagement Collection, a line of fine bone china to commemorate the forthcoming engagement between Prince William and Catherine.  It consists of a crown plate, mug, cup and coaster.  Finished in gold, this set displays individual headshots of the couple and wedding bells and bows.  The company began production on this line, even before the announcement had officially been made to the public.
But now, the official Wedding pattern has been approved and put on display for everyone to see.  Made in Stoke-on-Trent, this English fine bone china set is stunning.  Three pieces make up this collection, including a tankard or mug, a plate, and a pill box.  A pale grey striped background is the backdrop for a pattern of doves, white ribbons and hearts.  The couple’s initials are intertwined in gold and silver and William’s coronet appears above the initials.  “To celebrate the marriage of Prince William and Catherine Middleton 29th April 2011” is written in a circle, surrounding the initials.   A 22 Carat layer of gilding was applied by hand to finish the look.
Upon selling the china, the profit is dedicated to The Royal Collection Trust.  This group organizes public exhibits and sees to the upkeep of the Queen’s art collection.  The Royal Collection website is now selling the official wedding china.  Other locations selling the set are the shops in Buckingham Palace, Palace of Holyroodhouse, and Windsor Castle.  Highgrove, Sandingham, and Balmoral also have access to the official china.

Royal Souvenirs

Royal souvenirs are flying off the shelves. Fans of the newly engaged royal couple are in the grip of retail fever as manufacturers release a wide array of romantic memorabilia. But it’s not just fans that are after these historic souvenirs of the royal engagement and the upcoming wedding – serious collectors have also joined in on the retail madness, thinking to cash in on the souvenirs as some accidental investors did with the Prince Charles – Princess Diana memorabilia from almost three decades ago.

Also, now very popular is the Kate Middleton ring.  There are some quite lovely Kate Middleton Engagement ring replicas available starting as low as $40.  And there are also some beautiful rings, with real diamonds and sapphires, though still much cheaper than Kate’s ring of course.

There is definitely no shortage of royal souvenirs out there, and for memorabilia seekers there are certainly some souvenir items that would make better investment pieces than others. However, there is no sure way to tell which william and kate products would give you the best return on investment. Your best bet is to choose products that are well made and unique. The fact that this is the future heir to the British throne ups the value of royal souvenirs for sheer newsworthiness alone.

Here are some of the royal souvenirs available on Amazon.co.uk that would satisfy collectible hunters and fans alike.

Prince William and Kate Middleton Engagement Commemorative Thimble

Other Memorabilia

There are also mouse pads, books, salt and pepper shakers and a ceramic teabag tidy to mention a few of the other royal souvenirs available on Amazon.co.uk. These may not be the kind of memorabilia that would fetch a high price in the future, but then commemorative souvenirs are not all about profit. For Britons, it’s a way of cherishing tradition.
